Profile: Justin Upton

Name: Justin Upton
Height/Weight: 6-2 / 180
Date of Birth: 8/25/87
School: Great Bridge (VA) Rank: 18
Justin is the younger brother of Tampa Bay's B.J. Upton, and Justin profiles as the same kind of special, 5-tool talent. He could be the fastest player available in next June's draft, he has a cannon for an arm, power potential, strong hands and wrists and an advanced approach at the plate that should allow him to hit for a high average. Everyone seems to be convinced that Justin is going to hit, for both a high average and with good power, but more and more scouts seem to think that his throwing motion, speed and overall actions are going to serve him better in CF than at SS. With his off the chart tools, combined with solid makeup, Justin Upton figures to be one of the most exciting players in the league, no matter what position he plays, and like his big brother, he could soar through a team's minor league system. Upton should be the first overall pick in June's draft. He has signed to play with NC State.
