| Arencibia was a top prospect coming out of high school, but made it clear early that he was going to attend Tennessee. All he has done since attending college is hit, and hit in bunches, and has proven his worth hitting with a wood bat for Team USA. He hits for average and power, and shows a keen eye at the plate. He was big at the World University Championship in Cuba last summer hitting 4 of his 8 home runs and 23 of his 37 RBI for Team USA. He's a good athlete, and while he's probably never going to win a Gold Glove behind the plate, there is no reason to think he can't stick there. Arencibia could very easily go in the top 5-10 picks in next year's draft, and he helps make the 2007 catching crop one of the best in years. |
