Fields is a dynamic closer that was a well-known two-way star coming out of high school. He has enjoyed more success since being inserted as the Bulldogs' closer, and continued that success as a stopper on the Cape last summer on his way to being named the league's fourth-best prospect. While he's a shorter right-handed pitcher, he possesses a low-to-mid-90s fastball and a nasty mid-to-upper-80s slider that are complemented by a very fast, whip-like delivery. That delivery makes him better suited for the bullpen, where he led the Cape in saves with 13. He also exhibits good control by walking only five in his 18 Cape innings of work. He profiles as the best closer available in a strong class for short relievers.
