Detwiler of Missouri State is somewhat of a work in progress despite being a proven college pitcher that spent last summer pitching for Team USA. Built tall and rail thin, his fastball sits in the low-90s and has approached the mid-90s on occasion. While he has a very quick arm with easy action that produces natural life on all of his pitches, his mechanics do need some work, as he particularly needs to learn to repeat his delivery on a more consistent basis. He also mixes in a potentially dominant curveball and an improving changeup. He oozes with projectability and potential, and if he continues to take the same strides as he did this past year, he could be among the top 10 players selected next June.
