It took Roemer 50+ innings before he walked his first batter a year ago pitching for Cal State Fullerton. Overall he posted a 145-7 strikeout to walk ratio over 155 innings of work, although he did plunk 23 batters. He also is stingy when it comes to giving up base hits. He gets the job done by commanding the strike zone and changing speeds with average stuff arguably better than any other pitcher in the nation. His fastball is usually clocked in the 87-91 range, and has touched 93. He throws a curveball, slider and changeup, all with very good movement down in the zone, although he does tend to leave his fastball up in the zone more than he should. He also doesn't have the most projectable of builds, leading to comparisons to Greg Maddux. Roemer is a bulldog of a pitcher and a gamer that enjoyed success immediately upon stepping onto Fullerton's campus, and the bigger the game, the more he steps up. He played for Team USA last summer before leaving the team due to a death in the family.
