Profile: Charlie Furbush
photo: Charlie Furbush
Name: Charlie Furbush
Height/Weight: 6-5 / 215
Date of Birth: 4/11/86
School: LSU Rank: 93
Furbush has transferred to LSU for his junior year after lighting up the Cape last summer. He started his college career at Division III St. Joseph's College, but certainly is looking to increase his exposure being draft eligible. Furbush has the perfect blend of size and stuff. His frame and stature are very projectable at 6'5", 215 pounds. He has a very good fastball, particularly for a lefty, working regularly in the 89-95 range. He flashes a plus curveball as well, and has a changeup, but both pitches need work and more consistency. Similar to Ross Detwiler, Furbush has the measurables scouts love, but both could use a little work on the mound. This spring is a springboard of opportunity for Furbush.
