Profile: Tony Watson
photo: Tony Watson
Name: Tony Watson
Height/Weight: 6-4 / 210
Date of Birth: 5/30/85
School: Nebraska Rank: 11
Watson is built in a similar fashion to Charlie Furbush in that he is tall and rangy, with strong limbs that create a perfectly projectable frame. Watson has been highly sought after for several years now, both out of high school and last summer as a draft-eligible sophomore. He will take his 88-92 mph fastball back to Nebraska this spring in hopes of becoming a first-rounder, looking to add more command and consistency to his heater as well as his slider and changeup. Watson also receives high praise for his delivery and ability to throw strikes, and he rarely beats himself.
