Cozart makes everything look easy from the shortstop position. He always is in the right place at the right time, positioning himself well. He has very good hands, balance, and a strong arm. Offensively, Cozart's bat is tailored for contact, although he does have a fair amount of pop, as he hit 27 extra-base hits as a sophomore at Ole Miss, which includes 10 home runs. He has enough power to drive the ball into the gaps, and is a good situational hitter, making him an ideal candidate for the two-hole in a big-league lineup. He also has a fair amount of speed, and is considered a good baserunner. Overall, Cozart is one of the more polished players available for the 2007 draft, and has a very good chance of making it to and sticking at the big league level, even if its his defense that carries him.
