Brad Chalk is a prototypical top of the order hitter, either at the leadoff spot or in the two hole. He excels at making contact, and is a very good bunter and situational hitter overall. He shows a disciplined eye at the plate, draws plenty of walks and isn't afraid hitting with a two-strike count. There isn't much over the fence power to his game, but he has enough power to drive the ball to the gaps and let his speed do the rest. He is a very smart and instinctive baserunner and player overall, who also takes good routes in the outfield and makes all of the right throws from centerfield with a solid average to slightly above average arm. He was rated the 17th best prospect on the Cape last summer by PG Crosschecker and received a lot of praise from scouts for his overall tough and aggressive approach to the game.
