Darnell plays across the diamond from Justin Smoak at South Carolina, and next to Reese Havens as part of arguably the most talented infield in college baseball. While Smoak, and even Ravens, receive more publicity than Darnell does, he could have the most exciting power potential. After hitting 19 bombs during the spring, he continued to show off that power last summer on the Cape, highlighted by a big, opposite field shot in the Cape Cod League All-Star Game last summer off of Evan Crawford.
