Mississippi State boasts a couple of the more dominant closers in recent years, which includes Jonathan Papelbon and Bobby Thigpen. Weatherford could be the next in line, although the Bulldogs may decide to use him as a weekend starter, as he does have a good enough change to succeed as a starter. But he could thrive as a closer, starting with a fastball that reportedly was in the 95-97 during fall practices and a knockout slider that can reach the mid-80s. He doesn't even need his changeup when coming out of the bullpen, and he has the fiery, fearless and almost quirky disposition to be a perfect fit to a closer at the next level.
