Profile: Lonnie Chisenhall
photo: Lonnie Chisenhall
Name: Lonnie Chisenhall
Height/Weight: 6-2 / 190
Date of Birth: 10/4/88
School: Pitt JC (NC) Rank: 13
Chisenhall is a talented hitter, and was one of the top college freshmen a year ago at the University of South Carolina before he was kicked off the team for an off-field incident in which he and former Gamecock teammate Nick Fuller were charged for burglary. He has since transferred to Pitt junior college in North Carolina, and has picked up where he left off. With a sweet left-handed swing, Chisenhall can pepper the ball to all parts of the field. He hits to the gaps more than he hits home runs at this point in time, but with his approach many believe his power will develop as he matures both physically and as a hitter. He currently plays shortstop, but profiles best at either third base or right field, and also has pitched this spring, which may give you an idea of his arm strength.
