Prior to this spring, Ladendorf was known as a burner, with incredible efficiency on the basepaths and a strong contact bat that allows him to get on base at a high clip despite not walking as much as he should. This spring he has refined his plate discipline, and his power has exploded. His combination of speed and power and the fact that he continues to get better by leaps and bounds is making a strong impression on scouts. He has good defensive tools, although he probably will have to move off of shortstop, with second base or centerfield being natural destinations.
