Nieto showed off his energy behind the plate last summer at the Aflac All-American Classic. He clearly takes pride in his work as a catcher, and likes to show off his strong arm, frequently making snap throws to first base. A confident overall player, Nieto is a powerful switch-hitter at the plate. He has promising home run power and consistently makes hard contact from both sides of the plate. There are some that question whether or not he will be able to stick behind the plate long-term, as his body is a little on the soft side, but he has the perfect demeanor to provide the expected leadership from the position. He has committed to play for South Florida.
