Feature User Top 20 Prospect List

on 02/28/2006

Recently the readers of had the opportunity to take part in ranking the Brewers minor league players. The format consisted of a top 20 list submitted by each user. Each ranking on that list had a point value: 20 points were awarded for each first place vote, 19 for each second place vote and so on. The lists were combined and tallied to form the User Top 20.

There were a total of 39 players who received votes. Of those 39, 18 are pitchers and 21 are positional players. Of the top 20, the splits are 11 for pitchers and 9 for positional players. Even the top 5 is a split with 3 positional players and 2 pitchers.

1. Prince Fielder, 1b (677 points) Fielder was the clear choice as top minor league player. He was not unanimous as he only collected 32 of the 34 first place votes. We have been waiting awhile to see Prince in a Brewer uniform everyday. Is it April 3rd yet?

2. Corey Hart, of (598) Corey has quietly been one of the best Brewer minor leaguers in his career. Last year Corey hit .308 with a .916 OPS for AAA Nashville. Nothing left to prove in the minors, see you in Milwaukee in 2006.

3. Ryan Braun, 3b (574) Braun exploded onto the scene in 2005 and this former Hurricane should be returning to Florida for 2006, at High A Brevard County. Well at least to start as he will move up as fast as his bat produces.

4. Dana Eveland, lhp (535) Dana showcased his skills to Brewer fans with 31 innings in 2005. He should start 2006 in Nashville
