| The draft is a week away, and the top 30 players still haven't taken shape. With constant talk about how weak this year's draft is, each team's top 30 players looks substantially different from one another. Andrew Miller entered the season as the top-rated draft eligible prospect and held that spot all spring, as he would be a top prospect any other year as well. The rise of fellow college pitchers such as Tim Lincecum, Brad Lincoln, Brandon Morrow and Greg Reynolds has given the draft a solid group of college pitchers to choose from. Unsigned top prospect from a year ago Luke Hochevar also solidifies this year's class assuming he doesn't sign with the Dodgers. The group of hitters remains on the weak side, although there could be several prep sluggers taken in the first round including switch-hitting catcher Hank Conger, left-handed slugging catcher Max Sapp, outfielder Travis Snider, infielder Billy Rowell and first basemen Chris Parmelee and Lars Anderson. Premium middle infielders are lacking at both the college and high school levels. The prep pitching class is deep, highlighted by rising lefty Clayton Kershaw and Jeremy Jeffress, who is only the second high school pither on record to record a 100 mph fastball, as he works in the upper 90s regularly deep into ballgames. Among the new names among the top 30 prospects as listed above include the aforementioned Billy Rowell, and Lars Anderson just missed the cut. Prep outfielder/left-handed pitcher Kyler Burke also is among the top 30 prospects, a talented and athletic left-handed hitter and thrower that could excel in both areas if given the chance. He improved his stock as a hitter this spring with a very strong campaign at the plate, hitting over 20 dingers during his senior year. As for the Brewers, they have been associated with a few college closers, several college starters, prep fireballer Jeremy Jeffress and slugging prep catcher Hank Conger. The college pitchers include Blair Erickson, Chris Perez, Josh Butler, Jared Hughes and Joba Chamberlain. With the Brewers picking 16th and the fact that they play their cards very close to the vest, their first-round pick will likely remain unknown until it's announced on draft day.
