No     Added: 5/21/04   Name: Kurt Suzuki Height/Weight: 6-1 / 200 Bats/Throws: R / R Date of Birth: 10/4/83 School: Cal State Fullerston Brewerfan.net Rank: #65 College, #124 overall   Suzuki entered the season as a strong defensive catcher with the nickname of "Kurt Klutch" for always coming through with the big hit. This season he is one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball, hitting well above .400 for the entire year. He shows a great eye at the plate, and has good pitch recognition. Draws his fair share of walks, and doesn't strike out much. For the most part Suzuki is a line drive hitter, with most of his power going from gap to gap. He has hit double digit home runs this year, as he has learned to pull more balls. Behind the plate he shows very good footwork, soft hands and a strong arm. He doesn't make mistakes, and is very technically sound. With relatively no hype this spring over his performance, it's remains unseen if his performance at the plate is a fluke or if he's legit.
