Dave Bush avoids arbitration, signs 1-year deal
Posted on: 01/26/10
by: Patrick Ebert

The Milwaukee Brewers and right-handed pitcher Dave Bush have agreed to terms on a one-year deal avoiding salary arbitration. Bush, 30, signed for $4.125 million in a deal that includes incentives based on appearances.

Bush went 5-9 last year with a 6.38 ERA, although he missed all of July and most of August with a triceps injury. The Brewers hope he can sustain his health and enjoy a season similar to his 2008 campaign, when he posted a 4.18 ERA and recorded the Brewers only win in the postseason against the eventual World Series champions, the Philadelphia Phillies.
