Nice batch of minor leaguers here - surely a few will make their mark in baseball history. Use the Internet to learn about the history of baseball, from baseball drafts to baseball drills.
  Power 50
+/- Rank  Name  Level  Pos  Age
 01 Hardy, J.J.   MLB   SS 37 R R
Everybody has a slump sometimes, so we'll spot you this one, J.J.
 02 Nelson, Brad   A   1B 36 L R
Slugging percentage is still below on-base percentage, which is still odd, but we still are projecting that power binge shortly
 03 Jones, Mike   A   MR 36 R R
Mike is closing in on the team and league lead in ERA and showing no signs of not being able to get to both of those plateaus eventually
 04 Krynzel, Dave   MLB   CF 38 L L
Without all those caught-stealings of his, you wonder how many more runs scored (Dave has 49 so far) he'd have
 05 Fielder, Prince   A   1B 35 L R
Took a Power 50 demotion to heart and went on a hitting binge, jacking the batting average up nearly 20 points
 06 Parra, Manny   A   MR 37 L L
Manny's WHIP just keeps tumbling downwards; those lack of walks allowed will really help him once he gets to High Desert
 07 Hendrickson, Ben   MLB   SP 38 R R
Back in the pitching saddle in Huntsville again... let's hope it's for keeps this time
 08 Hart, Corey   A   OF 37 R R
Corey has been playing pretty decent defense again lately; a good personal goal to set might be keeping the error total this season under 30, which will be a task, but very possible
 09 Ford, Matt   A   MR 38 S L
It's almost a lock that Matt will make his major league starting debut this weekend against the Twins, but don't look for a tremendously long outing, as his arm isn't yet fully stretched out
 10 Martinez, Luis   MLB   SP 39 L L
Best guess is all Luis has to do to earn a promotion is to show that for a few games in a row, he can throw strikes consistently and bring down the walks
 11 Petty, Chad   A   SP 37 L L
It's a new season for the Mavs as they try to forget what happened in the first half, and although Chad wasn't around to see most of it, he needs to rebound from a shaky few opening starts in the Brewers system
 12 Diggins, Ben   A   MR 40 R R
It's possible that Ben could be back with the Stars for their playoff run
1  13 Wilhelmsen, Tom   A   MR 35 R R
One guy that probably won't be promoted from the outstanding Beloit rotation is Tom, who still needs to iron out some mechanical issues, and because, well, he's only 18
1  14 Cruz, Enrique   A   SS 38 R R
The search for AB for Enrique contines... his present pace is 92, short of the 150 or so they had planned to give him
new  15 Gwynn Jr, Tony   MLB   OF 37 L R
Anthony decided that he wants to be called Tony Jr., which should strike even more fear into the hearts of opponents; we'll call hm Pookie if that makes him hit better
1  16 Clark, D.J.   A   LF 40 L R
The power is ever so slowly coming back into DJ's game, and once it gets there, he could boost his stock immensely
1  17 Moss, Steve   A   CF 35 R R
Kamikaze play in CF will cost Steve a few games after he dislocated his right shoulder on a spectacular diving catch
1  18 Liriano, Pedro   A   SP 39 R R
Pedro is putting up nearly identical numbers to those of Mike Jones... it would be great if he could keep up with Jones' upside, too
1  19 Johnson, Kade   A   C 41 R R
20 or 30 AB of beginning cold isn't that worrisome, but now with nearly 100 AB in AA and no luck at the plate, it's becoming a little worrisome
 20 Belcher, Jason   A   RF 37 L R
It's hard to pinpoint why Jason hasn't been promoted to Huntsville yet... it's either lack of progression in outfield defense or an outfield glut in Huntsville, but the boy could hit right now in AA, no question
2  21 Zoccolillo, Peter   AAA   RF 42 L R
After striking out a whole lot early, Pete has lowered his AB/K ratio from the bad side of 3:1 to the good side of 5:1
1  22 Hall, Billy   MLB   3B 39 R R
You'll excuse the Power 50 if we're only half-convinced that Billy has found his swing in Indy
1  23 Chavez, Ozzie   A   IF 36 S R
Ozzie has been swinging the bat a lot better as he's gotten back into the lineup fulltime
1  24 Carpenter, Calvin   A   SP 37 R R
Carp is beginning a rehab assignment today with the Arizona Brewers, which means Beloit won't be more than a couple weeks away for Calvin
1  25 Ballouli, Khalid   A   SP 39 R R
Khalid is still a couple of weeks away from his rehab assignment
1  26 Palmisano, Lou   A   C 37 R R
4 extra base hits among first 6 pro hits... a catcher with power? Most excellent
1  27 Varner, Noochie   MLB   RF 39 R R
Noochie is looking like a very similar player to Bill Hall at this point, without the rush job
1  28 Gold, J.M.   A   SP 39 R R
Why is JM still on the Power 50? He has more pure talent than about 40 guys on the list, and as long the Brewers don't give up on him, I won't, either
1  29 Adams, Mike   MLB   CL 41 R R
A dominating 5+ inning relief appearance the other day begs the question, why not try out Adams in the rotation?
2  30 Murray, Josh   A   3B 35 R R
Not playing yet down in Arizona, so the leg injury must still be bothering him
2  31 Childers, Matt   A   MR 41 R R
It would be neat to see Matt and Jason pitch together at Indianapolis again
 32 Pember, David   A   SP 41 S R
Who else is counting the days until Dave pitches again?
2  33 Morris, Chris   A   CF 40 S R
Chris shouldn't be having this much trouble keeping his OBP a lot higher, so I guess it's a good thing he went to High Desert
1  34 Sarfate, Dennis   MLB   MR 38 R R
Last few outings by Dennis haven't been stellar, making that push for a promotion take a few steps back
2  35 Thomas, Eric M.   A   SP 38 R R
Haven't heard about the results of Mega's MRI, but the longer he doesn't appear in the Arizona box scores, the worse the problem probably is
2  36 Crabbe, Callix   A   UT 36 S R
Better to be plateauing at .235 than .190, but Callix needs to keep that average moving upwards... he's doing pretty much everything else right
1  37 Eveland, Dana   MLB   SP 36 L L
Maybe those David Wells comparisons are worthwhile, with Dana's 8 K's, 0 BB's, and 3 hits allowed in first 4 IP
1  38 Ramirez, Carlos   A   SP 35 L L
2 starts and 2 wins for Carlos on a limited pitch count, not too shabby
2  39 Barnes, Justin   A   MR 37 R R
3 home runs so far in Helena are a good start for putting away any notions of making Justin a pitcher
4  40 Raburn, Johnny   A   IF 40 S R
The Brewers should play Johnny at catcher for a few games to round out his utility status
1  41 Villanueva, Froilan   A   C 41 R R
With Nelson back and Ernster hurting a bit, Froilan will play third base almost exclusively
 42 Fermaint, Charlie   A   CF 34 R R
5 strikeouts in his first 10 pro at-bats isn't a great thing, but Charlie's a project, and the Brewers knew that going in
 43 Housman, Jeff   A   MR 38 L L
Baseball Prospectus is even noticing Jeff's Midwest League performance, but like most people, they are waiting for the ERA to go up a bit
3  44 Santana, Ralph   A   2B 38 S R
Ralph needs to keep the OBP higher than the .340's if he wants to be effective with his small-ball game
 45 Gemoll, Brandon   A   1B 39 L L
One of the strangest things I've noticed recently is Gemoll's 8 caught stealings... this guy moves about as fast as Eddie Perez with a bum ankle
 46 Vanden Berg, John   A   C 39 R R
Vandy will be out for a bit as he recovers from getting hit in the head
3  47 Parker, Matt   A   SP 41 R R
Matt got rocked in his last AA start, and he'll be back in the pen with the return of Hendrickson from the DL
 48 Mannon, Adam   A   RF 36 R R
Adam may end up being one of the few guys on the Arizona team to play everyday
 49 Septimo, Agustin   A   UT 35 S R
A good old .565 OBP in his first 5 games, with 7 walks in 16 at-bats, and he's fast, too
new  50 Opdyke, Bryan   A   C 35 L R
We'll take it as a good sign that the 5th rounder's first pro plate appearance was a walk

Players removed this week: Pedro Esparragoza... Ryan Miller...
