Peavey isn't the most imposing of pitching prospects, but he has a nice, projectable build and a nasty arsenal of pitches, none of which arrive to the plate without some kind of movement. His low-90s fastball dips and dives, a pitch he uses to induce quite a few groundballs. Once he has established that pitch, he starts buckling knees with a nasty curveball that can make batters look foolish. There is also a fair amount of deception to his delivery, as he hides the ball well through his windup. Peavey is poised to become the next strikeout pitcher from the Pacific Northwest, which is quickly establishing itself as an overlooked baseball hotbed.
