Date of Birth: 12/30/88
School: Gahr (CA) Rank: 31
Sanchez has a prototype big-league body, built slender with broad yet narrow shoulders and long, wiry strong limbs. He is a very good natural athlete that can play shortstop but will profile better at the hot corner. He is the type of player that makes everything he does look easy, and defensively he is a potential Gold Glover with nice range, soft hands and a strong arm. And his best attribute is his bat, with very good bat speed generated from strong hands and wrists that gives him above average power potential. He drives the ball to the gaps, and makes consistent, hard contact. He is somewhat of a sleeper in a very good year for Southern California third basemen, joining Josh Vitters and Matt Dominguez. Sanchez has committed to the University of San Diego.
