Gallagher was anmed the 20th best prospect on the Cape Cod League last summer, and draws more intrigue for his size and projectability than he does for his overall polish. His stature and stuff give him the potential to be a first-round pick next June, but he will have to command his pitches better while adding a few more ticks to his fastball, which many scouts think he can. He does have a good three-pitch repertoire, highlighted by his 89-92 mph fastball. He also throws a curve and a changeup, although both pitches could stand to have more consistency. Once Gallagher learns to be more aggressive and attacks the strike zone instead of trying to be more fine his status could soar.
