Rizzotti is a very large first base prospect which alone elicits exciting power potential. He was named the 18th best prospect on the Cape last summer according to PG Crosschecker, and was third in the league in RBI (27). Rizzotti was named the MAAC's player of the year after both his freshman and sophomore years. His finest offensive attribute is his keen batting eye, as he has a propensity for drawing walks and getting on base. By working deep into counts he also strikes out quite a bit, which can be expected for a slugger of his stature. While he has hit for a high average at Manhattan College, he only hit .214 on the Cape, so there are some mixed reviews as to how well he'll hit as a professional. And while he has very good power potential, his home run totals haven't been as lofty as one may expect. That said, few have his raw power potential, and another big year in college will help his draft status. Defensively he will never be a Gold Glove candidate, but he moves well enough around the first base bag. He will likely be a target of an American League ballclub that values statistical performance.
