Date of Birth: 8/18/89
School: Okaloosa-Walton JC (FL) Rank: 24
Webb was considered one of the top prep pitchers for the 2008 draft after his impressive performance at the 2006 WWBA World Championship in Jupiter, Florida as a junior. A broken ankle caused him to miss the end of his junior year as well as the summer showcase season, but he returned strong last October at the 2007 WWBA tournament to establish himself as one of the top prep '08 pitchers. His strong, durable frame allows him to pump his fastball in the low to mid-90s with regularity, and he touched 96 in Jupiter. His curveball is a plus pitch when it is working for him, but that pitch and his changeup continue to be works in progress. He's a power pitcher that often rears back and throws, but he has the stuff to get away with it. He was considered signable a year ago, but fell to the Diamondbacks in the 12th round of the draft. He has opted to forego his commitment to Kentucky to attend Okaloosa-Walton Junior College in attempt to improve his draft stock.
