Susac is part of an incredibly impressive prep catching class, with a half-dozen players that all could make noise to go in the first couple of rounds. Susac may be the best defensive backstop of the group, and he looks like a natural behind the plate. He has cat-like quickness, good reaction times, a cannon for an arm, a quick release, great accuracy and the perfect body to handle the everyday rigors of catching. His confidence makes him a natural leader of a pitching staff, and his glove could allow him to move as quickly as his bat adjusts in the minor leagues. His bat isn't as polished as his defense, but he has shown the tools to have more than enough room to grow. He has good bat speed, and knows how to drive the ball against some of the better pitchers in the country. A big season at the plate could really inflate his stock, and he also has a commitment to Oregon State to contend with.
