Profile: Matt Graham
photo: Matt Graham
Name: Matt Graham
Height/Weight: 6-3 / 195
Date of Birth: 5/1/90
School: Oak Ridge (TX) Rank: 10
Graham has a strong, mature build and a muscular lower half, and facially he looks six to eight years older than he actually is. He employs a short-arm delivery that creates some deception while also showiing his back to opposing batters. His fastball topped out at 94 with movement last summer, although prior to that he had only been throwing in the upper 80s despite showing better arm strength during his sophomore year and the summer after. He also throws a sharp curve, a potentially nasty slider and a nifty changeup. He needs to improve his consistency, but when he's at his best he does a good job changing speeds and commanding the strike zone. He has committed to North Carolina, a school that has proved difficult to pry prospects away from.
