Nine Up, Nine Down, with Helena's Robbie Wooley

on 08/30/2004's latest player interview isn't one of our traditional "Brewerfan sits down with..." Q&A sessions, as that pesky airfare to Helena , Montana got in the way. But 19-year-old RHP Robbie Wooley was kind enough to respond via email to our nine queries, and as you'll read, handled himself nicely.

Milwaukee drafted Wooley in the sixth round of the 2003 draft, making him the first pitching selection of their draft. Wooley was the top high school player in Indiana , and his big power curveball and fierce competitiveness might lead some to compare him to another Brewer high school pick from the midwest, Ben Hendrickson, taken in the 10 th round in 1999. Wooley got his feet wet professionally in 2003 with 21.2 innings in the Arizona Rookie League, fashioning a 2.49 ERA, and has been one of the most effective pitchers to throw for the Helena Brewers this summer. After spending last summer in Maryvale, and then an extended spring training there this spring prior to the June start of Pioneer League action, what was it like to finally hit the road for Big Sky country? Can you compare the two atmospheres
